We went to Maui recently and I was thinking back on the trip. It seems we were there ages ago yet I know we went recently. While there, we got up very early one morning to go snorkeling at Molokini Crater. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. We were the only boat there and the fish were amazing and brightly colored in the clear cool morning water. Sounds delightful, doesn’t it? It was!
Bumble in the Flowers
After breakfast we went for a quick walk. It was all we had time for and we wanted to see a little more of the surroundings before we returned back home. The Hibiscus were lovely, as always but I am always looking for the wildlife, so to speak. I was fortunate to get a shot of this giant bumble bee as he flew from flower to flower.
Sunset from The Canoe House
I would be leaving the best part out if I didn’t include this photo. We had a fabulous time at The Canoe House while the sun was setting one evening. There had been several evenings when we could not see the setting sun but everything about this evening was perfect. I love how captured images can take you right back to a special event. This Saturday, I hope to find more of that magic in Berkeley.
I often find my mind drifting after I’ve been to Hawaii. It conjures up images from my most recent trip. This last visit has proved to do the same. Once we left the Big Island and arrived in Maui, we had an enchanting experience and I will share more of that in some blogs to follow.
Lacey Green Leaves
Look at the leaf here. There was obviously an insect that thought this plant was quite delicious. I think it looks a bit like lace. The leaves caught my eye and then what was behind it caught my imagination. Wouldn’t you love to live here? I would! I wouldn’t mind just visiting here either.
Looking Like Paradise Awaits
It’s nearly across the street from this little old stone church. This island has so much to offer and so many long-lasting memories from the pleasant times that I’ve spent here.
Chapel By The Sea
We went to areas that we didn’t know existed and it leaves (no pun intended) me thinking that I need to return to other islands to see everything they have to offer that I might have missed in the past too. Always love to return home but then I can’t wait to explore some more…..
You may have missed my recent attempt at posting my blog. I was in Maui, Hawaii and my iPad didn’t want to allow me to post anything. I thought about struggling with it, and then I thought; why?
First Evening Sunset Kaanapali
This isn’t the best photo that I took, but on our first night, we were serenaded with a concert six floors down. It was amazing. I love music, I love tropical evenings, and I love pleasent surprises like this. I wanted to keep the feel of the party long after it was gone. I’ve been listening to their CD’s for days now.
Concert with Henry Kapono & Willie K
Our first night in Wailea was beautiful and I took this while on our way to the welcome party, down the beach pathway which was just past the pool.
Pool Sunset Grand Wailea
I had heard glorious rumors about Mama’s Fish House and was longing to go there all week. We finally made it on the last evening and stopped in for an appetizer. This place is like being in first class. I wasn’t sure if I’d return to Maui, as it is rather congested for me these days, but I must return to go to Mama’s. It was devine.
Final Sunset at Mama’s
There’s more to come as we had many adventures while in Hawaii. I’m missing the sound of the ocean waves as they pounded the shore. It’s funny how fast you can grow to appreciate certain things.
